Money Talks Expert - Michael Campbell

Michael Campbell is British Columbia's most respected business analyst. He is best known as the host of Canada's top rated business show - Money Talks - heard across the country on the Corus Radio Network.

Campbell is also Senior Business Analyst for BCTV News on Global and a frequent contributor to the national Canada Tonight broadcast. Campbell is author of the national bestseller titled Cooking the Books with Mike: Michael Campbell's Favourite 50 Recipes for Instant Financial Success.

Following university studies in economics, Michael broadened his focus from economics to include personal financial areas. Trained in New York, Campbell worked in the investment business for 10 years and currently is a successful business owner.

He says that making far too many amateurish investing mistakes and enduring the ups and downs of operating a business gives him an important perspective on the real world of business and economics.

Michael's focus on the big picture helps individual investors to plan their own strategies - necessary now that individual investors are carrying their own investment risk in their retirement savings.

This is the time of year media types like myself dust off the crystal ball and take a look into the future but there seems to be a lot of no go zones when it comes to looking at some of the most serious issues impacting society.

A great case in point is the massive demographic shift that every Western nation including Canada is undergoing. It's a phenomenon that is already having a profound impact on healthcare, immigration, employment trends and business yet my bet is that if you review all the broadcasts or columns talking about major trends in the next month you'd be hard pressed to find more than a couple that mention demographics.

Every once in a while I try a sell demographics as the most important subject we ignore, especially when it comes to the healthcare debate but given that the aging population plus falling birth rates in Western nations is arguably the most important driver of change in our society you'd think it would rate more attention.

"Money Talks" is heard twice each Saturday on C-FAX 1070, "live" from 8:30-10:00am, and a repeat broadcast from 5:30- 8:00pm.
